Be very wary of fraudulent “work from home” and “get money quick” scams – they are only taking advantage of desperation and people looking to give a boost to lost income. Robocalls and advance payment checks from what look like credible companies are being utilized to cheat people. Once the fake deposited in your bank, it sparks a fraudulent chain of transactions.
COVID-19 Vaccination and Testing Kit Scams
They are popping up, false claims about cure all’s and fake preventative measures. These internet pharmacies are prey on fear to rip you off. Some of the snake oil offers are coming from very legitimate looking domains. So far, there is no medicine, vaccination or testing kit you can buy online for COVID. Don’t fall victim.
Charitable Donation Scams
What could be worse, people soliciting your money pretending they are a legitimate charity, collecting money for First Responders and victims of the corona virus. In reality, they are pocketing your money, taking wire transfers, cash, checks and credit card payments. Be vigilant!
